IKE City Manager

Location: Columbus, OH or remote

As an IKE City Manager, you will be responsible for the success of the IKE program in each of your assigned cities, serving as the primary liaison between cities and internal teams. Your primary responsibilities will be to ensure successful program deployment, manage city-specific content, communicate city needs to internal teams, manage city expectations, and ensure ongoing success of the program. A candidate will find success in this position if they thrive in a fast-paced environment and can successfully juggle multiple, complex projects. Flexibility is a must as our culture drives collaboration and values an enthusiastic “can do” attitude and creative thinking.

IKE is an interactive kiosk platform that connects cities with people through vivid, life-size touchscreen displays, providing an ever-expanding suite of applications that helps them to explore the very best a city has to offer. Your work will be used by tens of thousands of pedestrians every day, helping them to discover and navigate cities, including food, shopping, events, and social services. It will also allow them to share feedback with cities and stay informed about important events.

  • Manage the rollout process for your cities such that IKEs are deployed and operational according to schedule, budget, branding, hardware, and software requirements.
  • Build relationships and consensus with city and internal stakeholders, ensuring program success and overcoming obstacles and individual motivations that may not align with team goals.
  • Deploy IKE applications, configuration, and content in a way that draws upon our product and operational strengths and meets cities’ requirements. The end result is a great pedestrian experience.
  • Work with the city and internal stakeholders to select IKE sites that achieve the best balance between the advertising network, utility and value to IKE users, and deployment cost.
  • Partner with cities, understanding their unique culture, initiatives, history, and attractions to maintain IKE branding and content that provides the most useful and relevant user experience.
  • Be the voice of the customer, helping internal teams to understand your cities’ unique needs and desires.
  • Manage customer expectations, balancing their needs with the best interest of all host cities and the company.
  • Work with field operations team to ensure ongoing program success and city satisfaction.
  • Maintain relationships with host cities so that they look to IKE Smart City as an indispensable partner in their ongoing smart city needs, resulting in a thriving IKE program and additional business.

  • Tenacity to drive projects forward by removing obstacles, driving decisions, and aligning key internal and customer decision-makers around common goals.
  • Builds consensus to drive teams to successful outcomes. Exhibits the right combination of diplomacy and persuasion to align parties with sometimes disparate interests and agenda. Able to represent company interests to customers and customer interests to internal teams.
  • Exceptional judgement to make commitments and decisions on behalf of the company and internal personnel when representing the company to customers and partners.
  • Lives complete and unequivocal ownership of success of programs customers under their management.
  • Treats obstacles as challenges to overcome to achieve success, rather than as reasons to fail. Conceives of and applies creative solutions to problems that block success. Focuses on solutions rather than problems.
  • Learns products inside and out and understands the underlying technology and data. Demonstrates a hunger for learning.
  • Highly organized with strong project-management skills. Able to juggle multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders. Strong attention to detail.
  • Rolls with the punches – flexible and versatile to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced “startup” environment.
  • High level of comfort and proficiency with modern, web-based, productivity and collaboration tools such as MS Office, Google Suite and mapping, group communications, and task/project management.
  • Demonstrated experience and success with project-based client / customer management in a technical domain.
  • Four year college degree or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred experience in city account management in large-scale smart city, telecom, or other technology programs.
  • Ability to travel throughout the country as projects demand.
