FIELD OPERATIONS MANAGER

 

OVERVIEW

As Field Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the health, operations, logistics, and overall management of the installed base and demo fleet of IKE Smart City kiosks and transit pillars, deployed throughout the United States. You will work with partners throughout the organization as well as contracted external organizations. You will also build and maintain a team to carry out field operations responsibilities. A candidate will find success in this position if they thrive in a fast-paced environment and can successfully juggle multiple, complex projects. IKE is an interactive kiosk platform that connects cities with people through vivid, life-size touchscreen displays, providing an ever-expanding suite of applications that helps them to explore the very best a city has to offer. Your work will be used by tens of thousands of pedestrians every day, helping them to discover and navigate cities, including food, shopping, events, and social services. It will also allow them to share feedback with cities and stay informed about important events.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Manage the installed base of IKE Smart City kiosks and transit pillars to ensure that they are in good working order and in good repair.
  • Implement preventative maintenance and service programs in host cities.
  • Qualify, retain, and manage contracted organizations for maintenance and repair.
  • Monitor field operations for software or hardware problems and provide initial triage.
  • Work with engineering team to develop and utilize monitoring tools, escalate field issues, and prioritize reliability and operational improvements.
  • Manage hardware and logistics for IKE demo fleet. This includes management of demo pool and transport, delivery, setup, and teardown of demo units.
  • Manage equipment needed for transport, delivery, and handling of demo units.
  • Build and manage team to execute field operations duties.

 

ABOUT YOU

  • You are a skilled problem solver, a logical thinker, and a good communicator, all of which make you very good at fixing or triaging field problems and escalating to experts when needed.
  • You are skilled at creating and executing a plan but are comfortable and nimble when things don’t go as planned in the real world.
  • You enjoy interacting with customers and are at your best when it is your job to reassure them that problems will be corrected.
  • You are a hands-on manager who can do the work but also builds teams where everyone thrives and reaches their potential.
  • Four year college degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years working in field service organizations with hardware and software technology products.
  • At least two years of management experience. 
  • Ability to travel throughout the country as projects demand.
